Dublin - Space - Expander

Living in Dublin has been a wonderful and challenging experience so far. Testing my resilience in almost all aspects of life, the strength of the Irish and the history of this place is starting to have a strong effect on me. As is the case in the rest of the world there is a housing crisis here, and a flow on effect is that there is a shortage of artists studio spaces. They exist, but they’re expensive and in high demand. My practice has had to adapt.

No studio means no painting, no sculpture - I have always preached adaptability in practice and now it has been truly put to the test.

I have expanded my photographic practice, digital drawing, researching through exploration and been writing grant applications like a hummingbird.

This is preparing me for the exciting programs that I will be taking part in later in 2024, and in some moments I am grateful for the lack of studio, I sure as hell know I’m going to appreciate it when I get one again.

Here are some journal entries for persual and context. This blog has no purpose yet except for occasional word and pic vomit so here it is!
